Ravens' ex's heading to Texas?

OWINGS MILLS -- A pair of former Baltimore Ravens are auditioning for jobs with the Houston Texans this week.

Veteran cornerback Frank Walker is trying out for the Texans along with linebacker Willie VanDeSteeg.

Walker is an unrestricted free agent. Ravens coach John Harbaugh has spoken highly of Walker, who drew criticism for his tendency to commit penalties last season.

However, the Ravens haven't made any attempt to re-sign Walker.

VanDeSteeg is a former undrafted rookie from the University of Minnesota who spent last season on the Ravens' practice squad.

He was released last week primarily due to a lack of repetitions in practice because of the crowd of outside linebackers in Baltimore.

According to the Texans, they also tried out: former Seattle Seahawks fullback Justin Griffth, who has previous stints with the Oakland Raiders and the Atlanta Falcons, undrafted rookie cornerback Kasey Brown (Northwestern State), long snapper Preston Powers (Ole Miss) and wide receivers Derrick Townsel (Murray State) and Bobby Williams (North Alabama).
